A bit about Jason...
I was born and raised in the Triangle. After attending UNC-Chapel Hill and graduating in 2006 with degrees in English and Psychology, I immediately started an MA in Teaching program. One year later, I completed the program and then entered the classroom to teach.
After spending 5 years teaching high school English in Durham, my wife and I decided to move to Oregon to return to graduate school and experience life on the west coast. I attended and completed the University of Oregon's Couples and Family Therapy Masters program over the next two years.
During my second year, I worked as a clinician at a campus facility that provided general therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families with a variety of presenting concerns. Meanwhile, I also worked at The Eating Disorder Center of Eugene (EDCE) as an intern primary therapist, growing my knowledge about how to help those struggling with eating disorders.
I was hired by EDCE (a Monte Nido affiliate), where I would go on to work as a therapist and eventually take on the role of Lead Therapist/Assistant Clinical Director. I loved working at this level of care, and I have a lot of gratitude for all of my experiences living in Oregon.
Upon receiving licensure in NC to practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist, my wife and I decided to move back home with our two dogs to be closer to family. We also welcomed our daughter, Ruby Rose, to the world! Now I work in private practice in Chapel Hill, serving the Triangle, and glad to be back in the great state of North Carolina.
It is essential that a client feels comfortable with his or her therapist.

Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy
It's my belief that relationships can heal. This includes the relationship clients have with each other when they enter couples or family therapy, but it can also be said of the relationship between a client and a therapist. In every case, I consider clients' systems, which have great impact on their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Mindfulness practice is built-in to my approach. My style is compassionate, yet direct and transparent. I love to help clients identify and break harmful patterns of behavior and work towards a healthier, more sustainable balance that improves their lives.
Mind and Body Wellness: Finding Balance
I have worked as a lead therapist at residential and day-treatment programs for people struggling with a variety of eating disorders. From this, I have specialized experience working with clients at many different stages of recovery. I look forward to helping people heal both their minds and their bodies. I lead groups and individual therapy sessions geared towards breaking unhealthy patterns with food and exercise. I also conduct sessions where I eat and explore healthy activities with my clients. It is my goal to meet people wherever they are in the recovery journey. Ultimately, I strive to help clients find balance that allows them to enjoy food and exercise for the rest of their lives.
